Report from the HEXAnord network meeting in Vilnius

The 13th of January, the IT for Health group at DSV went for a three day HEXAnord network meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania. Apart from Hercules Dalianis, Martin Hassel, Sumithra Velupillai, Elin Carlsson, Helen Allvin and me from DSV, there were participants with a background in medical

De-identification of patient records: A paper accepted for the 7th International Conference on Language Resources and Evaluation (LREC)

Me and my supervisor Hercules Dalianis have tranformed my thesis into a paper that has been accepted for the 7th International Conference on Language Resources and Evaluation (LREC). The title is:
"Influence of Module Order for Rule Based De-identification of Person Names in Electronic Patient Records Written in Swedish"

We will participate in a poster session and the conference will take place in Malta from the 19th to the 21st of May 2010.

Conference on the History of Nordic Computing

The first and second conferences on the history of Nordic computing, organized in Trondheim (2003) and Turku (2007) respectively, were very successful and acquired a great deal of interest from information and communication technology (ICT) professionals and academics as well as from historians of technology. Therefore, these conferences will now be followed by a third one, which will take place in Stockholm, October 2010.
